Onsite - Programme Implementer – Communication

The PI–Communications will be responsible for implementing communication strategies, creating engaging content, managing social media, coordinating campaigns, and ensuring consistent visibility of Azad’s work across platforms and partnerships.

About Azad Foundation
Azad is a professional feminist organization working across social and religious divides to enable resource-poor women to empower themselves by engaging them in viable non-traditional livelihood options. Azad is committed to breaking patriarchal boundaries and structures so that women can exercise control over their lives and live with dignity. This is done through transformative capacity-building programs based on adult learning principles around the self and the skills needed for non-traditional livelihoods. Azad also engages with both men and women in their communities to create a safe and supportive space for development. The organization operates directly in Jaipur, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata and partners with other organizations in Indore, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Role Description – Key Responsibilities

  1. Researching topical content relating to women’s economic and social empowerment intersecting with allied themes like gender, livelihoods, unpaid care work, transport and infrastructure, gender-based violence etc. and creating engaging posts related to that
  2. Coordinating with team and partners for co- creating and posting on social media, blog posts, newsletter and website contents in NTL network and Azad
  3. Coordinating with team partners for planning, ideating and implementing communication material and relevant posts for campaigns led by Azad and Non-Traditional Livelihoods (NTLN)
  4. Co- monthly plans of communication themes
  5. Highlight significant days related to themes relevant to Azad’s work like Non-Traditional Livelihoods, transport sector, gender equality, human rights etc.
  6. Manage our current social media accounts Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn for organization to make them engaging and active
  7. Share the monthly figures from our social media and website engagement, analysing to see if we need to do anything differently
  8. Posting organisational updates – e.g. Awards, News, Vacancies
  9. Induct volunteers into the organization and manage their work and feedback during their time with us
  10. Support with content for the donor newsletter once in 3 months
  11. Participate in monthly meetings, quarterly review of the implementation of the operational plan and present learning analysis to the leadership.
  12. Supporting the thematic lead and communication specialist in developing and ideating the design for the communication material and Azad’s and NTL Network’s key publication like Annual Report, Azad Parindey, Network’s publications etc.
  13. Supporting relevant Azad team members in network and partnership building keeping in line with Azad’s vision and mission.
  14. Building concrete strategies for increased visibility of Azad’s work across locations

Professional & Educational Qualifications

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills for creating engaging content across platforms
  • Ability to create communication material that is simple and impactful
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram etc
  • Familiarity with designing tools like Canva, video editing tools like Filmora
  • Basic understanding of digital metrics
  • Proficient in documentation and report writing
  • Ability to work with different teams and network members and outside stakeholders like designers etc
  • Preference will be given to those with Master’s in degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Development and Gender Studies
  • Additional certification or short courses in digital communications are a plus
